OCEANS in Brno, Czech Republic

Lukáš Žofka, member of OCEANS Network, took part in the European Education and Lifelong Learning Exhibition.

The 18th year of The European Education and Lifelong Learning Exhibition Gaudeamus 2011 was held this year on first week of November in Brno, Czech Republic. The Gaudeamus exhibition is the best known education fair in central Europe. More than 30.000 visitors from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and neighbouring countries come to see the exhibition every year.

Lukáš Žofka, member of OCEANS Network was invited to take part in the event at the Youth on the Move stand and was so kind to represent our Network!

Here is what he reports:

"I was very happy and proud to be invited for this biggest university market in the Czech Republic and to have the possibility to share my experience with young students who for sure will successful in the future as well as to meet people with similar experiences. Hopefully many of them will have such as good career opportunities as I have and gain such good experiences as I gained from studying abroad in Sweden and Canada.

This event was important for me as I learned a lot about how to share this special experience from being abroad and how to explain the different exchange programmes to people who have never heard about it.

The interest in studying abroad was very high. It was technically very well equipped and people felt immediately very comfortable which created a great atmosphere.
For me working with a microphone was a new experience and I truly enjoyed it. Important part of successful presentation was to invite people and keep them interested the whole time, therefore I am very thankful to the volunteers who help to catch people around the tent and invite them to join us.Students took the chance to speak with someone of the same age and to ask openly all the questions.

Generally I was satisfied with whole conference and I would like to thank the OCEANS Network to invite me to this nice event.

At the end I would like to say <<Do not hesitate and go>>!"
