EU - USA

Together the EU and the USA fund over 200 projects and enable some 6,000 individuals to participate in mobility activities over the eight-year period.

In 2006, the European Union and the United States of America signed a new agreement on higher education and vocational training for another eight-year period (2006-2013), called ATLANTIS. This agreement renewed the long standing EU-U.S. cooperation programme established in 1995.

The programme is funded jointly by the European Commission and by the U.S. Department of Education. It aims at promoting understanding and at improving the quality of their human resource development. To achieve these objectives it supports several actions, such as the Transatlantic Degree action, Excellence Mobility Projects, Policy-oriented measures, and the Schuman-Fulbright action.
