Call for participants: Regional capacity building workshop on the role of trade in cross border higher education and promotion of Erasmus+ in Asia-Pacific

  • Are you interested in cross-border mobility?
  • Are you passionate about EU-Asia relations and want to contribute more actively?

The ESAA credit mobility strand in partnership with Asia-Pacific Research and Training Network on Trade (ARTNeT) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is organizing a "Regional capacity building workshop on the role of trade in cross border higher education and promotion of Erasmus+ in Asia-Pacific"

Cross-border mobility of students is by far the major form of cross-border post-secondary education. International student mobility to OECD countries has doubled over the past 20 years. Europe is the largest receiving region, and Asian students represent one of the largest majorities of its intake of foreign students. As a result, the new Erasmus+ of the European Commission aims to increase the mobility flows between the EU and its partner countries.

The event aims to promote Erasmus+ programmes outside the European Union and increase ESAA membership, but also to improve capacity building for ESAA members in key skills such as leadership, governance, organisational management, planning and advocacy.

The objective of this event is to create country representatives who will work on promotion strategies of Erasmus+ at their universities in Asia-Pacific. Participants will be introduced to ESAA and will be trained how to become active within the network and act as multipliers. After the event, there will be clear roles and responsibilities of country representatives, who will act as multipliers in the promotion of Erasmus+ programmes in Asia-Pacific.

With this event, we want to offer effective training to participants who will act as multipliers and learn about effective promotion and communication strategies for the promotion of Erasmus+ programmes in Asia-Pacific

The event is planned to take place on 26 October 2015 at the premises of the United Nations in Bangkok. The activity will consist in full day training on the promotion strategy of Erasmus+ programmes in Asia-Pacific.

A final document is expected as the output of this training, which will include working material from the workshop and final promotion strategy, which will be distributed at the European Commission in Brussels.

International travel reimbursement of EUR 200 is offered, and participants will be accommodated in shared hotel rooms for one night before the event.
For participants travelling from within Thailand, the travel reimbursement is EUR50.

Eligibility:
Participation is open to any eligible ESAA credit mobility members from Asia-Pacific region, or European students currently studying in Asia-Pacific.
