2019 Annual General Meeting A Success!

This year's AGM was held at the beginning of the month at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. The main focus this year was “Inclusive Globalisation and the challenges it faces: what the EU and ASEAN can do to address this topic"

The 2019 Annual General has just completed and was a major success.

Members from around the world met to dive into the focus of the AGM: “Inclusive Globalisation and the challenges it faces- What the EU and ASEAN can do to address this topic."

The AGM was held during the 1-3 March 2019 at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

Mr. Jerome Pons (Head of Cooperation; EU-Delegation to ThailandKeynote) gave the first day's keynote address titled "EU-ASEAN: a trade and investment partnership with strategic purpose."

Further discussions and activities during the first day included a presentation of main findings of the Trade and Investment Report in Asia-Pacific 2018 by Dr. Mia Mikic (Director, Trade, Investment and Innovation Division United Nations ESCAP), and a presentation by Dr. Pietro de Matteis (Advisor on Public Diplomacy to the European External Action Service in Brussels) covering the role of EU Public Diplomacy in addressing the challenges of globalization.

There was also a panel of experts on EU-ASEAN who led a riveting discussion on the practicalities, opportunities and challenges for Inclusive Globalisation and what EU-ASEAN can work towards.

OCEANS Members reviewed the projects completed during the past year and planned for future growth of the organisation.
