Kenny Bayudan

Candidate for the position as “President”

Tell us about yourself and what you are currently dedicating your time towards?

I am from the Philippines. I studied Mathematics for Teaching at the Universidade de Evora in Portugal. I'm currently pursuing a law and a PhD in the Philippines.

Do you have any previous experience with OCEANS and if so in what capacity?

I am the incumbent national representative of the Philippines and Deputy Head for International Coordination. I attended several ESAA trainings and seminars as OCEANS member, chosen as the national representative since 2019 until now, and represented OCEANS in several promotional engagements and partnership activities. I co-organized a project with EMA under ESAA.

What motivates you to apply for this position?

It's been 2 years that OCEANS didn't have a proper leadership. It's time that someone with the skills, commitment and dedication becomes OCEANS President. Too many wasted opportunities and all of which could have been avoided had the organization elected a better leader.

What skills and qualities can you bring to this position?

I am skilled in project management, data analysis, financial management and to some extent legal management. I ran successful projects as the President of the Association of Law Students of the Philippines and the Asian Law Students Association Philippines Chapter.

What are your plans and ideas for the future of OCEANS?

To refine the existing organizational processes that caused a lot of mishaps from the past years, to build sustainable linkages, to be a more inclusive OCEANS, and to conduct relevant, timely and significant programs.
