ESAA Annual Meeting 2026 | Brussels

On 27-28 January 2026, OCEANS Network participated in the Erasmus+ Students and Alumni Alliance (ESAA) Annual Meeting in Brussels, gathering representatives from across the Alliance and European institutions under the shared ambition of shaping ESAA’s future together.

This year’s meeting was a space for collective reflection and action: reviewing ESAA’s progress, discussing governance and sustainability, and reinforcing cooperation between student and alumni networks that represent the diversity of the Erasmus+ ecosystem.

A key milestone of the Annual Meeting was the signature of the updated ESAA Memorandum of Understanding, which strengthens the foundations of our collaboration and clarifies a common vision for the years ahead. Beyond a formal step, this MoU reflects a shared responsibility to work together more strategically, inclusively and coherently.

Alongside ESN (Erasmus Student Network), EMA (Erasmus Mundus Association), garagErasmus, and the regional platforms WBAA and ASAF, OCEANS Network contributed to discussions on the role of Erasmus+ students and alumni as active contributors to society, from community engagement and employability to international cooperation and policy dialogue.

The programme also included exchanges with representatives from the European External Action Service (EEAS), DG INTPA (EU Youth Alumni Program, Capacity4Dev), and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) community, providing space to explore further perspectives for synergies and cooperation.

At OCEANS Network, we remain committed to ensuring that international mobility is not only an opportunity for some, but a lever for inclusion, skills development, and global understanding.

The conversations continue, and so does the work.
