Exploring the EU’s Global Gateway Initiative: Spotlight on Erasmus+ and Study in Africa

The OCEANS Network was pleased to contribute to the conference "Exploring the EU’s Global Gateway Initiative: Spotlight on Erasmus+ and Study in Africa" hosted at Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (UCAD) in Senegal.

The gathering, organised in partnership with the Forum des étudiants et des anciens boursiers africains (ASAF), the Delegation of the European Union to Senegal, and several committed stakeholders, provided a space to:

  • Highlight academic mobility opportunities available to African students and alumni through Erasmus+, Internal Credit Mobility, and intra-Africa programmes.
  • Showcase the European Union’s commitment to youth and education through the Global Gateway initiative.
  • Foster collaboration between alumni networks, academic institutions, and policy actors.

A special thank you to ASAF and the entire organising team, particularly Alexandre Mahougnan for their remarkable work in making this event a success, and to Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (UCAD) for the warm welcome.

As an international alumni network supported by the European Commission, OCEANS remains committed to promoting inclusive international mobility, capacity-building and the empowerment of young people across continents.

Let’s keep working together to open doors, build connections and inspire future generations!
