Coordinating Board

The Board is the executive decision-making body of the OCEANS Network and has a mandate of one year. It is currently composed by 10 members: President, the Vice President and 5 working group members: Professional Development Coordinator; Communication Coordinator; Magazine Coordinator and the Regional Coordinators for Europe, Japan, South Korea and North America.

About:

Neringa has studied Bachelor of Creative Industries at VGTU, Lithuania and Masters of Media Culture at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands. Her academic exchange experience includes Erasmus mobility to a business school EPHEC in Brussels, Belgium and semester at the University of Ulsan in Ulsan, South Korea under the ICI-ECP Education Cooperation Programme of the European Commission.

In addition to her studies, Neringa she did Erasmus training at an independent cinema production company in Spain, received United Nations Development Programme scholarship to intern at an NGO European Network Against Racism and completed a traineeship at the European Commission.

As a human rights activist, she has a strong interest in policies of international development, inclusion and promoting youth empowerment through non-formal education methods, all of which have brought her to OCEANS.

Position:

The President is the primary leader of the OCEANS Network and brings forward the mission and vision of the Network. He has the responsibility to ensure the overall performance and regular operation of the Board Structure, both internally and towards external organizations and partners. Also, he is Board member of the Erasmus+ Student and Alumni Association.

Position:

Our network is doing great things and providing amazing opportunities, but all of  those? need to be communicated internally, to our members, and externally to the outside world.

Exchange of information is key to enable our members to access our services, events, and opportunities. Packaging catchy and informative pieces of information on social media and articles to be published online is essential for advancing the prestige of the network and for giving chance to new people to get to know about us and what we do.

Hana Sabanovic

Position:

Hana´s main tasks are to represent OCEANS at international higher education events in Oceania.

She serves as the focal point of contact for the Network’s activities in Oceania. Furthermore, she participates in activities of the Network’s Coordinating Board actively taking part in developing a young international youth organisation. Most importantly, she helps promoting the bi-lateral exchange programmes and coordinates members’ acquisition campaign in Oceania.

Alexandra Coffman

About:

Alexandra Coffman has been an active OCEANS member since 2011. She is currently serving as the Deputy Communications Head and has served in past OCEANS roles including North American Coordinator and parts of transition and ESAA+ communications team. She graduated with MAs from West Virginia University and Collegium Civitas in history and international relations. She is currently employed at West Virginia University as an Extension Service Agent where she works with youth education, volunteer management, and community development. She is actively involved with youth global education within her position and is excited to again serve in an OCEANS board role.

Position:

This dedicated person participates in activities of the Network’s Coordinating Board and actively takes part in developing a young international youth organization. Additionally, sHe serves as a contact point for Network’s activities in North America. The main tasks are to represent OCEANS at international higher education events in North America. The person helps promoting the bi-lateral exchange programmes and coordinates members’ acquisition campaign in North America.

Magazine Coordinator

Position:

The Magazine is shaped by the contribution of many international-minded people with different academic backgrounds. The team includes students and alumni from the EU, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea, but it is also open to other people both within and outside the OCEANS Network. The work of the contributors is directed and coordinated by the Magazine Coordinator with the assistance of the Project Manager and the Graphic Designer.

Position:

Martina serves as the focal point of contact for the Network’s activities in Europe. Professional Development Coordinator

Position:

The Head of Team is part of the OCEANS Board, and as such, performs a decision-making role contributing to the whole strategy of the Network.

The Head and Deputy-Head of this team lead and coordinate all the team’s activities and namely: career support and guidance; fostering business and social; entrepreneurship among members; organisation of events and professional networking activities.

Further, they co-organise and participate to the activities of the respective Erasmus+ Student and Alumni Alliance (ESAA) Working Group.

Position:

Yuichi participates in activities of the Network’s Coordinating Board and actively takes part in developing a young international youth organisation. Additionally, he serves as a contact point for Network’s activities in Japan. The main tasks are to represent OCEANS at international higher education events in Japan. He helps promoting the bi-lateral exchange programmes and coordinates members’ acquisition campaign in Japan.

Position:

Hyunjin serves as the focal point of contact for the Network’s activities in South Korea. Further, she participates in activities of the Network’s Coordinating Board actively taking part in developing a young international youth organisation. Her main tasks are to represent OCEANS at international higher education events in South Korea. Moreover, she helps promoting the bi-lateral exchange programmes and coordinates members’ acquisition campaign in South Korea.
